Don't miss your chance to be one of the first runners on a new certified and chip-timed 10K/5K/1M Inclusive Run & Walk being held on Sunday, October 23, 2022 in the Illinois Medical District, just two miles west of the Chicago Loop. The first annual Rise to Shine Run & Walk is accessible, inclusive and welcomes runners of all levels and ages.
Join on your own, invite your friends, or build a team. All registered runners and walkers receive a cooling performance shirt and custom finisher medal. There will also be custom age awards in five-year increments up to 70+. The wheelchair and handcycle races will have awards for the top 3 female and male participants.
Starting at 7 AM, enjoy our Family Dash Bash featuring a Kid's Race, pre-race stretch, entertainment by internationally renowned DJ and Producer Alex Miura, Masa Brothas Taco Experience Hour and other fun activities. The Kid's Race begins at 9:00 a.m. and all participants must be registered to participate.
The race is hosted by The Chicago Lighthouse and the Chicago Central Lions Club, who are working together to promote vision health, well-being, and inclusion in our community.
Please note the following:
- The route will be supported from 7:30 AM until 9:30 AM. After that time, the streets will reopen and there will be no street closures, course marshals or support on the route. Please choose your participation in the event based on this information.
- The race does not allow strollers or dogs with the exception of certified service animals. This does not include emotional support animals of any kind. This not only includes the race route but also the Family Dash Bash.
- Participants in the Push Rim/ Wheelchair and Handcycle categories must wear helmets.
